1. Introduction

These Terms of Engagement outline how JT’s Plumbing & Gas Fitting (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides plumbing and gas services to residential, commercial and body corporate clients.

By booking a job, requesting a quote, or allowing our technicians onsite, you agree to these terms.

Our goal is to deliver professional, reliable, compliant plumbing services with transparent communication at all times.

2. Standard Plumbing Rates

Hourly Rate – Licensed Plumber & Gas Fitter $110/hr Charged in 15-min increments after first 30 mins
Hourly Rate – Apprentice $55/hr When attending with a licensed plumber
After-Hours Call-Out (incl. first 30 mins labour) $275 Mon–Fri after 5pm, weekends, public holidays
After-Hours Hourly Rate $198/hr Charged in 15-min increments after first 30 mins

Fixed-Price Services

Hydrojet Drain Clearing (up to 1 hr, incl. CCTV inspection) $375 Additional time: $150/hr
Water Efficiency Certificate $150 Includes compliance check
*Additional works charged separately
Flexi Hose Replacement (per hose) $55 Supply & install
Standard Backflow Testing (Single Device) $150 Includes functional test, calibration checks, report, lodge with council
Additional Backflow Devices $115
Repairs (if required) Standard labour + materials Retesting fee also applies
Gas Compliance Certificate $55 For new installations & repairs (excludes maintenance)
Hot Water System Replacement – Electric & Gas $150 Quote / $0 Estimate Quote after site visit; estimate may be from photos

Quotes

  • Quotes are valid for 30 days.
  • Variations discussed and approved before works proceed.

Materials & Parts

  • Standard mark-up applies to all supplied materials.
  • Special orders may require upfront payment & restocking fees.

*Discount applies to minimum charge only. Additional labour, materials, parts and after-hours surcharges are excluded.

Terms & Conditions

  • Payment due within 7 days unless arranged otherwise.
  • Late payment fees may apply.
  • Prices may change without notice.
  • Work outside quoted scope charged at hourly rate + materials.

After-Hours Availability

After-hours work is not guaranteed. Phone support is available for troubleshooting and to determine whether attendance is required under emergency repair guidelines.

3. Access Requirements

Clients must ensure safe and clear access to all required work areas. No-access charges may apply.

4. Cancellation & No-Access Fees

Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a call-out fee. If access is not provided when the technician attends, a call-out fee applies.

5. Payment Terms

  • Payment due within 7 days unless arranged otherwise.
  • Accepted payments: bank transfer, card, invoice payment.
  • Late fees may apply.
  • Progress payments may be required for larger jobs.

6. Warranty & Compliance

  • Work carried out in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.
  • 12-month labour warranty.
  • Manufacturer warranties apply to supplied parts and appliances.
  • Compliance forms lodged when required.

7. Variations & Unexpected Issues

If hidden issues are found, you will be notified and work will continue only with approval.

8. Client Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate job information.
  • Notify of known issues or past modifications.
  • Secure pets.
  • Provide safe access.
  • Obtain required permissions.

9. Health & Safety

Work may be refused or delayed if the site is unsafe.

10. Limitation of Liability

  • Pre-existing defects.
  • Damage from old or non-compliant pipework.
  • Foreign objects or structural defects causing blockages.
  • Issues linked to client-supplied fixtures or appliances.

11. Privacy

Client details are handled confidentially for booking, invoicing and compliance only.

12. Acceptance of Terms

By booking JT’s Plumbing & Gas Fitting, you acknowledge and accept these Terms of Engagement.
